COOLANT ANTIFREEZE G13

SPECIFICATION G13 FOR ANTIFREEZES WAS INTRODUCED BY VW IN 2013.

Having the same excellent cooling and antifreeze properties as G12++, G13 AUTOHIM antifreeze is a bright yellow color. The main difference from Antifreeze G12 and G12++ is that its production uses a mixture of demineralized water, monoethylene glycol, glycerin, and carboxylate additives. This mixture has significantly less impact on aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous metals. In addition to excellent freeze protection, Antifreeze G13 also has exceptional cooling properties and a higher boiling point.

Advantages of using silicate additives in aluminum radiators

Unlike many previous specifications using OAT (organic acid technology), G13 contains silicate additives for additional protection and restoration of aluminum. Thanks to the addition of silicate additives, G13 is perfectly suited for long-term use in all modern radiators, especially those made of aluminum alloys.

However, G13 is not the best choice for older cooling systems that have copper/brass radiators and heater cores (it is poorly compatible with lead solder). Instead, it is better to use antifreeze with specifications G11 or G12.

Transitioning to G13 from older types of antifreeze
Although G13 antifreeze is backward compatible with modern types of radiators, when switching from another type of coolant, we recommend thoroughly flushing the cooling system to maintain its cleanliness.

In summary:

  • G13 not only has the same excellent cooling and antifreeze properties as G12++, but also has the additional benefits of glycerin.
  • G13 provides exceptional protection against corrosion, calcium and iron deposits, and foam formation.
  • G13 ensures excellent cooling properties.
  • Designed specifically for long-term use in modern radiators and engines of any type.
